These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of The Task (“the Platform”), available at https://thetask.co.uk. The Platform is operated by The Task Platform CIC, a Community Interest Company registered in England & Wales with company number 16604346, whose registered office is at:
17 Mann Island, Avenue HQ, Liverpool, L3 1BP, United Kingdom.

By registering and using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

1. Purpose of the Platform

The Task is a connection platform that allows charities, community interest companies (CICs), individuals, and businesses to:

Create and undertake tasks (“Tasks”);
Post volunteering opportunities;
Share online courses or training content.

The Task Platform CIC:

Provides the Platform as a means of connection only;
Is not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, or outcome of any Task, volunteering opportunity, or online course;
Is not a party to any agreements, arrangements, or disputes between users.

All interactions, activities, and outcomes are solely the responsibility of the parties involved.

2. User Responsibilities

a) Task Completion Evidence

Charities/CICs posting Tasks must upload an image or evidence of the completed Task within one (1) month of completion.

b) Image Upload Requirements

All images you upload must:

Be your own or you must have the right to use them (no copyright infringement);
Not include identifiable minors unless you have documented consent from a parent or legal guardian;
Not include service users, beneficiaries, or participants without their explicit consent to have images used externally;
Not disclose any sensitive or personal information (e.g., home addresses, financial details).

Service User Consent:

For photos taken of service users (including beneficiaries of tasks or volunteering activities), you must obtain explicit consent for external use.
For vulnerable individuals, ensure consent is freely given and informed, or provided by a legal guardian if appropriate.
You must not upload images of service users without confirmation that they are happy for the image to be used outside the Platform.

Failure to comply with these requirements may result in suspension or removal from the Platform.

c) Volunteering & Online Courses

Participation in volunteering opportunities or online courses is entirely at your own risk.

3. Platform Control & Fair Use

To maintain the integrity and quality of the Platform, we reserve the right to:

Limit the number of Tasks a charity, CIC, or other user may post at any given time (for example, during pilot phases, currently limited to two Tasks per charity/CIC);
Modify, remove, or restrict access to any Task or content at our discretion;
Set rules or limits to prevent misuse or abuse of the Platform, including spamming, fraudulent activity, or posting inappropriate content;
Suspend or terminate any account found to be abusing the system or violating these Terms.

You agree not to use the Platform in any way that:

Is unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent;
Harasses, threatens, or defames any other user;
Disrupts the normal operation of the Platform.

4. No Liability

The Platform is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Task Platform CIC is not liable for any losses, damages, or claims arising from:

Tasks, volunteering opportunities, or online courses posted or undertaken;
Interactions between users;
Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages related to use of the Platform;
Any accidents, injuries, or harm occurring during volunteering activities or as a result of any online training or courses accessed via the Platform.

5. Privacy

6. Account Termination

You may request to close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts if these Terms are violated or if abuse is detected.

7. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. Continued use of the Platform after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
